RESOLUTION 2004-3

WHEREAS, Arbor Day will be celebrated in the year 2004 on April 30; and
WHEREAS, the Adirondack Park Agency plans to commemorate Arbor Day by planting
a tree in celebration of the good work and accomplishments of a person of significance
in the life of the Adirondack Park; and 
WHEREAS, Harold A. Jerry, Jr., in a distinguished career in New York public service, served as lawyer, State Senator, Director of the Office for Regional Development, Executive Secretary of the Temporary Study Commission on the Future of the Adirondacks, and Public Service Commissioner; and
WHEREAS, Harold A. Jerry, Jr. loved his Adirondack forest retreat where he generously shared his wisdom and love for the Adirondack Park; and
WHEREAS, Harold A. Jerry, Jr. was instrumental in the formation of the Adirondack Park Agency, and the State and private land plans; and
WHEREAS, Harold A. Jerry, Jr.’s lifelong dedication to the Forest Preserve and the Adirondack Park is a model for future generations of New Yorkers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Adirondack Park Agency, with great respect for his life and contributions, will recognize Harold A. Jerry, Jr. with its 2004 Arbor Day award and, to so commemorate, will plant a tree on the grounds of its Ray Brook offices.
Motion made and seconded by the Agency as a whole, and passed unanimously on this 15th day of April, 2004.
