Real estate values are rising in many areas of the Adirondack Park based on market supply and demand. Changing real estate values and related tax shifts can have positive and negative effects on local governments, communities, and landowners, as well as on year-round and seasonal residents. The presenters include: Bill Hotaling, Hamilton County Real Property Tax Director; Barry Miller, Essex County Real Property Tax Director; and Terry Horrocks of Lake Placid, an MAI appraiser experienced in the Adirondack Park real estate market. The presenters will explore the nature and effect of changing real estate values and will discuss implications for land use in the Park.
