     The planned June 2-5, 2005 Adirondack Birding Celebration at the Paul Smiths Visitor Interpretive Center and the June 17-19 Adirondack Birding Festival in Hamilton County show growing collaboration between naturalists and tourism officials who recognize the economic importance of viewing regional wildlife.  The Committee will host a panel to discuss birds of the Adirondacks as well as tourism opportunities and economic activity involving birding.  The panel will include Gary Lee, naturalist and retired NYS Forest Ranger from Inlet; Bill Osborne, Director, Hamilton


County Tourism; Rynda McCray, Facility Manager, Newcomb VIC; and Brian McAllister, Coordinator of Volunteer Services, Paul Smiths VIC.
