RAY BROOK, NY – The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) has launched two new public facing mapping resources designed to make Agency data easier to find, understand and use. The upgrades include Lookup Lite, an interactive mapping application, and an improved APA Arc GIS Hub website, which provides streamlined access to the Agency's publicly available datasets.
Together, the tools expand public access to Adirondack Park geographic information system (GIS) data while offering different levels of functionality for residents, property owners, local government officials, researchers and other users.
Lookup Lite Makes Mapping Information Easier to Explore Lookup Lite serves as a centralized platform for viewing APA-authored GIS datasets alongside other relevant public data layers. Built using the ArcGIS Experience platform, the application allows users to explore authoritative spatial information through an intuitive web-based interface. The tool was developed by APA's GIS team to make GIS resources more accessible to a wide range of users, including residents, property owners, local government officials, researchers and those interested in learning more about the Adirondack Park.
Potential uses for Lookup Lite include: Review a project site to make an educated public comment, explore your property as a potential applicant with the APA, assist with local government initiatives or help identify the status of your local land use controls (subdivision regulations, zoning, etc.)
Lookup Lite also includes a variety of interactive features, allowing users to: Draw directly on the map, add their own data or other online datasets for comparison and analysis, share customized map views, including specific layer combinations and geographic areas.

Improved Arc GIS Hub Expands Access to Public Data The Agency has also redesigned the way users access its broader collection of publicly available geospatial data using ESRI's ArcGIS Hub Site. While this data has already been available on our ArcGIS Online gallery, staff identified a need for a more user-friendly way for the public to access and interact with these resources. Staff designed a website-style interface to explore, visualize, and download this information. This site was designed with the end user in mind and includes an APA branded style, advanced search functionality, and a wide variety of download options and integration into independent GIS projects. Together, Lookup Lite and the ArcGIS Hub provide a more accessible gateway to APA mapping information. Both resources are available through the mapping section of the APA website.
