Funding from the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region 2, Wetlands Protection Program, was used to develop some of the data sets and assemble a portion of this CD. The Adirondack Park Agency wishes to acknowledge The Remote Sensing Lab at SUNY Plattsburgh for their assistance in developing wetlands and watershed data for the Park, and Applied GIS, Inc. of Schenectady, NY for the compilation of several tiled data layers into continuous Park-wide files under EPA contract #CD992992-01-0. Data developers that contributed to this CD retain ownership, credit and responsibility for their work and should be cited and contacted when secondary products are made from their data, or when errors are found or improvements made. GIS data development requires a great investment of resources on the part of a data originator. Therefore, these data are provided for your use, as well as your participation in its ongoing development and improvement. There is a wide range of data on the CD covering both natural and cultural resources in the Adirondack Park. Some of these data are available on the Internet but have been provided here to put geographic information specific to the Adirondack Park at the fingertips of the user, including the user who may not have Internet access. Environmental Systems Research Information's free GIS data viewer, ArcExplorer, is provided on this CD for those without access to more sophisticated GIS software. Data on this CD will be updated in the future as changes are made to the datasets, or new data are developed. Data developers are encouraged to add their data to future versions of this CD by contacting the GIS staff at the Adirondack Park Agency. This CD-ROM is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but without any warranty; without even the implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The data on this CD may not be used for legal or jurisdictional determinations. Please contact the organization that originated the data for further information.
