Weekly APA Public Comment Periods Announcement


RAY BROOK, NY – The Adirondack Park Agency is accepting public comment on projects currently under review. The public is encouraged to go online to learn more about each public comment opportunity and to submit comments electronically.

At present, the following projects are available for comment at https://apa.ny.gov/Hearings/index.cfm:

• Seasonal tourist accommodation consisting of four cabins on wheels with electric service, one composting toilet/operations shed, and parking for nine vehicles in an existing gravel area in the Town of Essex, Essex County (P2024-0173).

• Installation of an on-site wastewater treatment system within 100 feet of wetlands to serve a new single-family dwelling in the Town of Webb, Herkimer County (P2024-0035).

• A five-lot subdivision to create four vacant shoreline lots for the construction of one single family dwelling, on-site wastewater treatment system and individual well water supply on each. The remaining lot, improved by an existing cabin, will remain with a 50±-acre Rural Use portion in the Town of Indian Lake, Hamilton County (P2024-0061).

• Installation of an 80-foot-long, 4-foot-wide dock in the Town of Chester, Warren County (P2023-0232).

• A new permit term to allow for continued operation of a previously authorized sand and gravel extraction in the Town of Peru, Clinton County (P2024-0261).

• Subdivision of a vacant 146±-acre parcel to create six building lots accessed from an existing gravel road with one single family dwelling, on-site wastewater treatment system, and water supply well to be constructed on each in the Town of Stratford, Fulton County (P2024-0053).

• Construction of a 120-foot self-supporting lattice tower for Hamilton County Emergency Services equipment and related infrastructure within a 40-foot by 40-foot fenced equipment compound and improvement of an existing driveway in the Town of Morehouse, Hamilton County (P2024-0065).

• Proposed revocation of APA general permits GP2005G-2R, Minor Projects Not In Or Impacting Wetlands; GP2005G-5R: Subdivision to Convey Two or More Lots Without Principal Building Rights; GP2010G-3: Change in Use of an Existing Commercial, Public/Semi-Public, or Industrial Building; GP2011G-1: Subdivisions Involving Wetlands; and GP2011G-2: New York State Department of Transportation Herbicide Vegetation Management for Guide Rail and Sign Delineator Posts Adjacent to Wetlands in the Adirondack Park.

• Construction of a 4.7 MW photovoltaic solar generation facility within four separately fenced solar panel arrays on approximately 20.5± acres with the point of interconnection with existing overhead electrical distribution infrastructure proposed on Tarbell Hill Rd. through underground on-site infrastructure in the Town of Moriah, Essex County (P2023-0244).

• Construction of a 26-foot-wide cul-de-sac road within a 50-foot-wide right-of-way to access proposed residential development in the Town of Bolton, Warren County (P2024-0134).

• The preparation and submission to the Governor of proposed amendments to the Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan for the management of State lands, pursuant to the Adirondack Park Agency Act (APA Act) and the APSLMP.
