June 2026 APA Board Meeting Preliminary Agenda

Please note that the Agency has updated the way meetings are live streamed to the public, resulting in minor changes to the remote public comment process outlined below.

RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, June 11, 2026. The meeting will be held at the Agency’s headquarters in Ray Brook, NY. The public is welcome to attend in person or remotely.

Public comment will be available to members of the public who attend the Agency meeting in person as well as those who participate remotely. If you would like the opportunity to make a public comment remotely, please email your name and the phone number used to call into the Board Meeting to: AgencyMeeting.PublicComment@apa.ny.gov.

Those who sign up for public comment will be limited to three minutes each. Public comment will not be accepted on any agenda items that are before the Board.

Please note that the Agency is transitioning the software used to livestream Agency meetings from a Zoom webinar to a Streamyard livestream. As part of this change, the remote public comment process has been updated slightly. Individuals who wish to comment remotely will be emailed a guest access link with instructions for joining and providing comment during the meeting.

On Thursday at 9:30 a.m., the Full Agency will convene for Executive Director Barbara Rice’s monthly report, public comment, and other procedural actions.

At 10:00 a.m., the Park Policy and Planning Committee will hear an informational presentation from a John Cochran of the New York State Office for the Aging (SOFA) on the New York State Master Plan for the Aging. Released in 2025, the plan details recommendations to help improve the lives of older adults living in rural communities.

The committee will also hear from a representative from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) on battery electric storage systems (BESS). The informational presentation will highlight BESS technologies and how they support the grid. In addition, information regarding local planning and zoning considerations, as well as fire safety and incident management will be highlighted.

At 1:00 p.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will convene to hear a presentation about the proposed project 2025-0063. The project involves the construction of a 107,600 square-foot educational facility. The proposed project is located in the Town of Moriah, Essex County. At 2:00 p.m., the Full Agency will convene to take any necessary actions.
