| Project Description: | The action involves a regenerative timber harvest of 680 acres. The silvicultural prescription is for a seed tree cut and a clearcut with reserves to harvest a declining overstory and encourage establishment of desirable regeneration. The harvest will focus on leaving 10-15 square feet of basal area of healthy and desirable growing stock in the overstory. Desirable pockets of advanced regeneration will be left in the understory. The property is subject to a NYS Working Forest Conservation Easement and is certified to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) third party monitoring programs. |
