Help with Forms and Documents

Opening a PDF File

Most forms are in Adobe Acrobat PDF file format. You need Acrobat Reader or other PDF compatible software to open these files. A free utility can be downloaded from the Adobe web site. Acrobat version 5 or higher is required for some documents.

When you click on a form link, the form may open up in your browser window.

If clicking a form link does not open up the PDF file in the browser, you may instead be asked where you want to save the file to on your hard drive. In this case, choose a location and note the name of the PDF file being saved. Then use your operating system to navigate to the directory or folder location on your disk and double click (or otherwise open) the saved PDF file.

If when clicking a form link, nothing happens, try right-clicking on the link and choose 'Save Target As' or a similar browser option that allows you to save the linked file to disk. After doing so, choose a location and note the name of the PDF file being saved. Then use your operating system to navigate to the directory or folder location on your disk and double click (or otherwise open) the saved PDF file.

Filling Out a Form

Forms must be printed to be filled out. There are no on-line entry methods at this time.

Filling out forms as completely as possible will aid in a more timely review. For assistance in filling out your forms, please see the instruction booklets indicated in the descriptive list of forms. You may also call the Adirondack Park Agency at 518-891-4050 for assistance.
